Actually, pedophiles are attracted to prepubescent boys and girls. I wonder how many heterosexuals find some 16 year old girls attractive? Lots. Foley was a sleaze because he used his position of power to harass boys. Like you imply, it has nothing to do with being gay, though very predictable that the GOP pro-gay bashers would turn it into gay = pedophilia. Sick assholes.
